Eastern Bankshares, Inc. and Eastern Bank Announces Retirement of James Fitzgerald as Chief Financial Officer

Eastern Bankshares, Inc. announced that James Fitzgerald intends to retire from his role as Chief Financial Officer of the Company and as Chief Financial Officer of Eastern Bank after 12 years of dedicated service. Fitzgerald will continue to serve in his roles until a successor is appointed, and will then serve in a senior advisory role throughout the planned merger and integration with Cambridge and Cambridge Trust Company and previously announced leadership transitions related to the merger. As part of the search process to help identify the next CFO, Eastern has retained executive search firm Korn Ferry.
Eastern Bankshares, Inc. is the stock holding company for Eastern Bank (The Bank). Through the Bank, it provides a variety of banking and trust and investment services.
