The Awa Bank, Ltd. (TSE:8388) announces a share repurchase program. Under the program, the company will repurchase 450,000 shares, representing 1.06% of its share capital, for ¥1,100 million. The company will repurchase its shares in order to flexibly implement capital policies in response to changes in the business environment and return profits to shareholders. The program will run until December 15, 2021. As of October 31, 2021, the company had 42,403,842 shares outstanding (excluding treasury shares) and 836,158 shares in treasury.
The Awa Bank, Ltd. is a Japan-based company mainly engaged in the banking services, leasing services and other financial services. The Company operates through two business segments. The Banking segment is engaged in the provision of deposits, lending, securities investment, domestic exchange, and foreign exchange services, and the provision of financial products and services through the sales of public bonds, investment trusts and insurance, financial products brokerage, and trust products. The Company is also engaged in the provision of banking services, credit guarantee services, credit card services, and management consulting services as supplements to the banking business. The Leasing segment is engaged in the leasing business.
