Berlin (Reuters) - The energy group RWE is expanding its solar business near Madrid.

The company has commissioned the Casa Valdes solar park with a capacity of 44 megawatts, RWE announced on Monday. Almost 100,000 modules have been installed on an area of 97 hectares, generating enough electricity for 30,000 households. Active modules are used on both sides, which generate electricity on the front and back and therefore promise a higher yield with the same surface area. Two further solar parks are also still under construction in Spain.
