Gas Natural SDG : Fenosa is world sustainability leader in its sector according to RobecoSAM Sustainability Yearbook 2016

• The power company has received Gold Class recognition that distinguishes it as leader in the gas sector.

• The Sustainability Yearbook, which is published by RobecoSAM every year, examines the international development of social responsibility policies at over 3,000 companies in 59 sectors.

GAS NATURAL FENOSA has been recognised as the world leader in sustainability in the gas sector according to the Sustainability Yearbook 2016 published by RobecoSAM every year. Furthermore, the power company is one of only five companies from the utilities sector to have received the Gold Class distinction.

The yearbook also shows GAS NATURAL FENOSA as an Industry Leader and an Industry Mover, distinctions that recognise it within its sector as the company with the highest rating and most prepared to harness opportunities and tackle risks stemming from economic development; as well as the company posting the best proportional improvement in performance and sustainability over the last year.

In this thirteenth edition, RobecoSAM assesses the sustainability performance of 2,126 companies in 59 sectors across the globe. The study recognises those with the best economic, social, environmental and governance results, with a clear focus on creating long-term value.

The yearbook is distributed to over 4,000 investors so they can assess how the companies in question manage social, environmental and corporate governance issues. RobecoSAM is a sustainability assessment agency that performs assessments for the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, one of the main indexes at a global level for rating economic, environmental and social criteria.

The multinational power company has maintained a strong commitment to sustainability for many years. This is reflected in its inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, among others, on which it has been listed for the last ten years. GAS NATURAL FENOSA has also been listed on the FTSE4Good Sustainability Index since it was launched in 2001, the MSCI Global Climate Change and the World 120, Europe 120 and Eurozone 120 sections of the Euronext Vigeo indexes.
