Westgold Resources Limited announced a further update to evaluation and development programs at the Starlight Underground Mine at its Fortnum Gold Project. The company now received results from follow-up holes around this intercept which have all returned wide zones of very high grade. The new holes present an aggregated 50 metre true width (approximately) Starlight lode system in this section. Internal of the overall intercept are continuous zones of higher grade lodes which resemble stoping blocks across the lode system. The immediate holes following up the intercept in WGU0089 have returned more excellent results. Underground hole WGU0088 intersected the starlight lodes approximately 30 metres down-plunge of WGU0089 and has an aggregated intercept of 85.6 metres (true width approx. 59 metres) at 9.40 g/t Au from 123 metres including: 27.2 m @ 4.34 g/t Au from 123 m; 20.0 m @ 19.83 g/t Au from 168 m; 10.4 m @ 25.99 g/t Au from 198 m. Underground hole WGU0087 intersected the lode approximately 60 metres down-plunge of WGU0089 and approximately 130 metres below current mining areas has returned an aggregated intercept of 74.15 metres (true width approx. 44 metres) at 1.95 g/t Au from 161.5 metres including: 10.7 m @ 3.42 g/t Au from 161 m; 6.5 m @ 7.22 g/t Au from 192 m; 1.3 m @ 7.14 g/t Au from 211 m; 3.0 m @ 6.82 g/t Au from 221 m; 2.4 m @ 4.59 g/t Au from 234 m. Underground hole WGU0090 intersected the lode approximately 20 metres up-plunge of WGU0089 and has returned an aggregated intercept of 75.23 metres @ 4.24 g/t Au from 96.35 metres including: 16.41 m @ 4.41 g/t Au from 96.35 m; 16.10 m @ 7.33 g/t Au from 129.85 m; 11.61 m @ 2.46 g/t Au from 150.78 m; 5.15 m @ 11.70 g/t Au from 166.43 m. Underground hole WGU0085 which intersected the lode which approximately 30 metres along strike up-plunge of WGU0090 returned 4.3 metres @ 2.0 g/t Au from 72 metres and 6.5 metres @ 7.49 g/t Au from 127 metres and shows the potential for further strike extensions of higher grade individual lodes within the ore system.
