Walmart Inc. announced that Jarred Crabtree, a 15-year Walmart Inc. veteran, was named to the newly created post of chief safety officer in April 2024. Crabtree joined the company in December 2008 as a senior
investigator in health and wellness asset protection. Before that, he spent 7 ½ years with the Benton County sheriff's office as a sergeant in drug enforcement and special operations. Crabtree has served in many positions at Walmart over the years. He was promoted to vice president in 2020 when he became a regional general manager. Before his April promotion, he was the company's vice president of enterprise security coordination and support.
Walmart did not immediately respond to a request for more information about the chief safety officer position and Crabtree's new duties.
