(Alliance News) - Officina Stellare Spa announced Monday that it has signed a contract with Argotec to supply the first batch of a series of space telescopes intended for the high-resolution multispectral Earth observation mission that will make up the Italian satellite constellation "Iride."

The contract, which has a duration of 30 months and a total value of about EUR3.3 million, provides for the design study and realization of the high-resolution payloads for the constellation "Iride," one of the most important European Earth observation satellite space programs, the company explained in a note.

Implemented at the initiative of the Italian government thanks to PNRR resources, the constellation will be completed by 2026, under the management of the European Space Agency and with the support of the Italian Space Agency.

"This is a unique, innovative and high-tech project of which we are proud, and which ensures Officina Stellare a key role within the Italian space supply chain," says Gino Bucciol, vice president business development and co-founder of Officina Stellare.

"For its realization, we will work in close synergy with Argotec, with the important contribution of TSD Space for the flight imaging subsystem, a further opportunity to increase our know-how, and contribute to the strengthening of the industry in the sector," he concluded.

Star Workshop trades in the green by 7.1 percent at EUR12.00 per share.
