(Alliance News) - Officina Stellare Spa on Tuesday announced the signing of a technology development and industrial cooperation agreement with Leonardo Spa and Thales Alenia Space - a 67 percent Thales and 33 percent Leonardo joint venture.

The agreement, with a duration of five years, "aims to take advantage in the national arena of the systemic and specialized capabilities of key players such as Leonardo and Thales Alenia Space Italia by combining them with Officina Stellare's technical expertise and production capabilities in the field of advanced optical systems for Space," the company explained in a note.

"Within the scope of the signed collaboration, Leonardo, Thales Alenia Space Italia and Officina Stellare will share specific knowledge and expertise to develop new solutions, applications and products in areas of common interest, in full respect of their respective industrial domains and existing proprietary commercial operations."

On Monday, Officina Stellare closed 1.0 percent in the red at EUR10.40 per share, while Leonardo closed flat at EUR10.18 per share.
