(Alliance News) - Officina Stellare Spa announced Monday that it has signed a contract with PhotoSonics Inc. for the second tranche of supply of short- and long-range optical systems worth EUR2.7 million.

Officina Stellare's optical systems supply program is being developed over a period of about five years, with a total value of about EUR10 million. This second tranche of deliveries is scheduled for completion by July 2026 and covers systems "operating in both the visible and infrared spectrums, which are required for the execution of the MITS - Multispectral Imaging and Tracking System - project launched in 2019 by the U.S. military," the statement reads.

"We can only be proud for the renewed trust granted by Photo-Sonics with whom we have been collaborating for almost a decade. A relationship that has also been consolidated thanks to our U.S. subsidiary, Officina Stellare Corp, which allows us to maintain a strong presence, as well as strengthen industrial synergies," says Gino Bucciol, co-founder and VP of business development at Officina Stellare and CEO of Officina Stellare Corp.

"This second important milestone attests Officina Stellare among the very few global players qualified to serve the defense sector for this type of product, and we are confident that with Officina Stellare Corp we will be able to reap many more opportunities like this strategic order," Bucciol concluded.

Officina Stellare on Friday closed 2.5 percent in the red at EUR9.60 per share.
