NorthWestern : Energy's Scotland, SD, office to close in January 2018

Huron, SD - January 15, 2018 - NorthWestern Energy will close its customer-service office in Scotland, SD, effective January 30, 2018. Scotland-area customers will continue to have a number of options for handling matters related to their energy service.
The closure of the walk-in office at 504 Main Street will not affect the reliable service customers have come to expect from NorthWestern Energy in response to outages or other energy delivery issues. NorthWestern's operations employee in Scotland will not be affected by the office closure.
The Scotland office has seen a marked decrease in walk-in traffic in recent years, as more customers take advantage of service options available online and via the telephone.
For the past 9 years, June Weidenbach has provided service to our Scotland customers. The company will host a public cake-and-coffee event at the office from 10 a.m. to noon on January 29.
'We place great value on our loyal customers in the Scotland area,' said John Thurmond, NorthWestern's Director - Customer Interaction. 'These decisions are not taken lightly and we are confident that through other channels we will continue to provide the service that customers have come to expect'.
Scotland-area customers will be able to start or stop service, pay monthly bills and handle other service related matters by calling our South Dakota Customer Care Center at (800) 245-6977 or by using the service options at www.northwesternenergy.com. NorthWestern has walk-in offices open to customers Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Yankton, Mitchell, Huron, Brookings and Aberdeen.
