Adult Octopus users living near, working or shopping in Pak
Tin Estate in Shek Kip Mei or Ping Tin Estate in Lam Tin will
be eligible to enjoy a HK$1 discount on MTR fares when two
new Fare Saver machines are put into service tomorrow (12
January 2012).
The new Fare Saver at Pak Tin Estate will be located on the
third floor of Pak Tin Commercial Centre. It will allow Adult
Octopus cardholders to save HK$1 on their next immediate same
day journey when boarding at Shek Kip Mei Station to any
destination within the MTR network (except the Airport
Express).
The other new Fare Saver at Ping Tin Estate will be located
on the ground floor of Ping Tin Shopping Centre. It will also
offer a HK$1 discount to Adult Octopus cardholders who take
their next immediate same day journey from Lam Tin Station to
any destination within the MTR network (except the Airport
Express).
Eligible passengers can simply swipe their Octopus cards over
the Fare Savers to enjoy the saving.
Passengers are reminded that the discount will not be valid
if the Octopus Card is next used for entry at an MTR station
other than the station specified above.
The MTR Corporation installs Fare Savers to encourage members
of the public who work or live relatively farther away but
within walking distance of the nearest MTR station to take
the MTR. Including the two newest Fare Savers, there will be
a total of 32 Fare Savers located at different areas in Hong
Kong.
