Motorola Solutions Inc : Motorola Solutions Names Mark Hacker as General Counsel

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - May 23, 2013 - Motorola Solutions, Inc. (NYSE: MSI) today announced that Mark S. Hacker has been named general counsel and senior vice president of Legal & Government Affairs. Hacker replaces Lewis Steverson, who is leaving the company to become senior vice president and general counsel of Corning, Inc.
Hacker joined Motorola in 2001 as a commercial counsel and previously was corporate vice president of commercial law for Motorola's Sales & Product Operations. Prior to that, he was vice president of legal operations and also oversaw the company's global legal team, Networks business and Connected Home business. He has held a variety of other law leadership roles across Motorola's business units. Prior to Motorola, Hacker was a corporate finance associate with Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney and an accountant with Arthur Andersen, both in Philadelphia.
He is a member of the Illinois and Pennsylvania state bars, has been a CPA, and serves as a volunteer adjunct professor at Northwestern University Law School.
Hacker earned a bachelor's degree in accountancy from Villanova University and a law degree from Villanova's law school.
Additionally, the company announced that Michelle Warner will become deputy general counsel and secretary to the board of directors.
Motorola Solutions, Inc. specializes in designing, producing, and selling communication equipment for administrations and businesses. The activity is organized primarily around 5 families of products:
- portable assistants and computers;
- mobile terminals;
- wireless network infrastructures;
- private radio systems;
- barcode scanners.
Net sales break down by source of income into sale of products (58.9%) and services (41.1%).
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: the United States (65.9%), the United Kingdom (8.7%), Canada (4%) and other (21.4%).
