Antimicrobial preservatives are widely used in products, materials or processes for the purpose of inhibiting and/or killing the growth of microorganisms. Examples of materials and products are medical devices, textiles, industrial surface disinfectants, cosmetics and healthcare products.
Antimicrobial efficacy is a major concern for the industry from formulation development to demonstrate effectiveness and to meet regulation requirements before placing products on the market.
