• The Galician town of Villagarcía de Arousa, and San Miguel de Dueñas in León, came second and third respectively.

The Basque town of Gordexola has won the "The Endesa League comes to your town" competition, an Endesa initiative which comes within the framework of the company sponsoring . The prize consists of the construction of a full size basketball court with lighting, for the use and enjoyment of the town's inhabitants.

Gordexola, a town with little more than 1,700 inhabitants, gained the support of internet users who were moved by the town's passion for the sport. There 10% of the population play basketball and have to share the local pelota court as there are no other suitable venues.

The whole town did its utmost to support Gordexola's candidacy, achieving 7,684 votes, followed by Villagarcia de Arousa with 5,740 and San Miguel de las Dueñas with 3,092 votes.

Endesa has succeeded in getting more than 60,000 people to participate in this competition via social networks, to choose the Spanish town with the most "", the slogan of the "make things happen" publicity campaign. A hundred towns from all over Spain participated in the competition, which started two months ago; only ten of them were selected by a specialist panel. Voting for the winner was exclusively online, and the closing date for the voting in the competition was 7pm on Sunday 15 January .

Endesa and ACB reached a strategic agreement in the summer by which the power company uses the name of the Spanish professional basketball league. As a result of the strategic partnership between the two entities - the most important and valuable in Spanish basketball to date - the ACB competition bears Endesa's name. It is the first time a commercial brand has been included in the name of the competition in almost three decades of the Basketball Clubs Association's history. From the beginning of the 2011-12 season, the ACB League is now called the Endesa League, just as the opening tournament of the season, the Supercup, is now known as the Endesa Supercup.
