Alexandre de Palmas, currently Executive Director of Carrefour Spain, is to be appointed head of the group's French subsidiary, the retailer announced on Thursday evening.

He will succeed Rami Baitieh, who plans to step down after 28 years with the group in order to devote himself to a new professional project abroad.

As Executive Director of Carrefour France and member of the Executive Committee, a role he will take on from Monday September 4, Alexandre de Palmas will be responsible for consolidating Carrefour's sales momentum in France and accelerating the roll-out of the major transformation projects of the Carrefour 2026 plan.

Elodie Perthuisot will replace him as Executive Director of Carrefour Spain, while retaining her current role as Executive Director of e-commerce, data and digital transformation.

Her appointment - also effective from Monday - will also lead to her joining the Group's Executive Committee.
