L'Atelier, the disruptive technology unit of the BNP Paribas Group, has appointed Sergi Herrero as Chief Executive Officer of its US subsidiary in San Francisco to replace Frédéric Tardy. Prior to this appointment, Sergi Herrero had served since 2010 as Deputy CEO of L'Atelier, with responsibility for consulting and strategic analysis. He will report to Louis Treussard, CEO of L'Atelier BNP Paribas, which is supported by teams in Paris, Shanghai and San Francisco.

Sergi Herrero (31) is a telecommunications engineer with a Masters' degree in New Technologies Management from the Ramon Llull University in Barcelona (Spain). Before joining L'Atelier BNP Paribas, Sergi Herrero held various posts at Vodafone Spain in the Key Accounts division. He is also co-founder of the luxury accessories brand, Sumattory. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in California since 2011 and also presents a weekly programme on the Spanish-language radio and TV channel Intereconomía.

"The US subsidiary of L'Atelier BNP Paribas provides a window on the Silicon Valley" said Louis Treussard. "Our unit has two roles: to allow companies to discover the latest trends in the Silicon Valley; and to advise and work hand-in-hand with companies on their digital strategy. I have every confidence in the future of our subsidiary in the USA. Under the leadership of Sergi Herrero, L'Atelier in San Francisco will continue to develop and to be a reference for disruptive technology".
