The BMW Group announces that it is the first automaker to achieve 'CCC Digital Key' certification from the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC), a structure that brings together automotive, smartphone, semiconductor and security provider manufacturers and promotes connectivity between vehicles and mobile devices.

The certification highlights BMW's digital access to vehicles, attesting that their digital key meets CCC's security and interoperability requirements.

A CCC member since 2017, BMW has played a leading role in the development of these technologies.

Kai Barbehön, head of central control unit and power supply development at BMM, believes that obtaining certification strengthens the automaker's position as a 'leader in innovative and convenient vehicle access'.
