(Alliance News) - Stellantis NV announced on Tuesday the launch of the E-Car project, a compact and affordable electric vehicle. The first E-Cars are expected to roll off production lines in 2028.

This high-potential segment plays a key role in fostering wider adoption of 100% electric vehicles: E-Car is indeed 'a small, innovative, affordable, and fully electric vehicle', the company explained.

Stellantis' E-Car models - according to a statement - will feature cutting-edge design and world-class BEV technologies, developed in collaboration with selected partners to ensure greater affordability and accelerate time-to-market.

Stellantis shares were down 0.1% at EUR6.39 per share on Tuesday.
