13 January, 2021, Shenzhen, China - ZTE Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, has helped the Inner Mongolia branch of China Telecom complete the construction of a national-level Internet backbone direct connection node in Hohhot, with devices deployed and services activated. That marks the successful establishment of the Internet information interconnection 'overpass' in the region. China Telecom has already made great progress in the construction of 163 backbone network.
The project aims to improve the nation's Internet network architecture and communication performance, drive the Internet industries to central and western regions, and expedite the progress of the big data industry in the region.
Regardless of adverse effects such as traffic control caused by the epidemic, ZTE, in tight cooperation with China Telecom, had finished equipment deployment by September 25th and has recently activated services. The Inner Mongolia branch of China Telecom announces that it will establish a wider and deeper strategic partnership with ZTE on the basis of this project.
ZTE's IP equipment in position for the 163 backbone network interconnection node in support of up to 2T in a single slot and high-rate interfaces from GE to 400GE to offer high-bandwidth services, incorporates innovative technologies including SRv6/SDN/FlexE. Its built-in 7nm in-house chips have high integration and the industry-leading ultra-low Gbit power consumption. The gear allows millisecond-level fast protection switching, remarkably enhancing the robustness of the network.
'The commercial application of the node is an important cooperation between China Telecom and ZTE on the construction of the 163 backbone network, strongly boosting local economic growth and transformation,' said Hu Junjie, Chief Global Marketing Officer of Transport Network at ZTE. 'Moving forward, we will, as always, be fully poised for China Telecom's network construction, and expect to bring commercial success to the operator.'
