Wal-Mart Stores notified the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development of the separations in a mass layoff notice filed as part of its move to close the four stores. The closure will be a 161,000-square-foot Walmart location at the Midtown Center in Milwaukee, 5825 W. Hope Ave., that will affect 272 employees. The other three stores are smaller Neighborhood Market locations.

Those stores and their job counts are: 3840 N. 124th St., Wauwatosa: 78 employees; N88 W15559 Main St., Menomonee Falls: 76 employees; S14 W22605 Coral Drive, Waukesha: 61 employees.
