  • European owner, manager and developer of logistics and commercial real estate, VGP Group, leases site in Vaterstetten near Munich to Isar Aerospace

Munich/Düsseldorf, 2 May 2024 - The launch service provider provider Isar Aerospace is to establish its new company headquarters near Munich in the municipality of Vaterstetten. The company has signed a contract with VGP Group, pan-European owner, manager and developer of high-quality logistics and semi- industrial real estate. VGP Group will develop and build the facility for Isar Aerospace in the industrial area Parsdorf III. The new site will accommodate production, development, and corporate headquarters of Isar Aerospace.

Daniel Metzler, Co-Founderand CEO of Isar Aerospace, says: "We are delighted to have found a new home for Isar Aerospace in Vaterstetten. By building one of the world's most modern production facilities for orbital launch vehicles, we are literally laying the foundations to become Europe's leading provider of satellite launches and to provide small and medium-sized satellites with sustainable access to space."

The production site in Vaterstetten will provide Isar Aerospace with maximum reliability, cost efficiency and flexibility. Thanks to a high level of automation, Isar Aerospace will be able to scale its production capacities and reduce costs in order to meet the growing international market demand for satellite launches.

"We want to offer private and public customers cost-efficient access to space. To this end, we have geared the design, vertical integration and production of our Spectrum launch vehicle for scalable series production from the outset. With the new production capacities, we can now continue to grow," says Josef Fleischmann, Co-

Founder and CTO/COO of Isar Aerospace.

The Vaterstetten municipal council has already approved the plans, but planning permission is still pending. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2024.

Jan Van Geet, CEO of the VGP Group, emphasises: "More than a year after the successful handover and commissioning of the buildings for KraussMaffei and BMW, we are delighted to have found a third, no less impressive tenant for the final part of our campus: Isar Aerospace." With the more than 40,000 square metres for Isar Aerospace, the business park has now reached full occupancy with a total of 320,000 square metres of rentable space. "This new partnership is further proof of the Campus' appeal to innovative industries. Once fully operational, the three tenants together will provide over 3,000 jobs in forward-looking production facilities," says Van Geet.

The VGP Park Munich in the Parsdorf III industrial estate, where Isar Aerospace's new company headquarters will be built, is a role model in terms of sustainability. The existing buildings have already been awarded at

least Gold certification by the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council). This certification is also being sought for the new building being constructed for Isar Aerospace. As with the existing buildings in VGP Park Munich, which comply with the EU taxonomy, verification of the EU taxonomy is also planned for the new building.

The sustainable energy supply for the buildings will be provided by solar systems. In addition to the existing rooftop PV systems in the park with a total capacity of 11.5 MWp, the VGP Group is planning further PV systems with 3 MWp for the last building (subject to the final roof utilisation and design). The issue of biodiversity is also taken into account in this park, including the creation of an ecological compensation area of 24 hectares of fields, dry grassland, flower strips and ponds next to the park.
