SAO PAULO, July 16 (Reuters) - Brazilian miner Vale on Tuesday reported a 2.4% increase in its second quarter iron ore production compared with a year earlier.

The company, one of the world's largest iron ore producers, reported output of 80.6 million metric tons for the steel-making ingredient in the three-month period ended in June, it said in a securities filing. (Reporting by Andre Romani Editing by Chris Reese)
