Universal Display Corporation reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2023. For the second quarter, the company reported revenue was USD 146.57 million compared to USD 136.56 million a year ago. Net income was USD 49.68 million compared to USD 41.5 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.04 compared to USD 0.87 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.04 compared to USD 0.87 a year ago.
For the six months, revenue was USD 277.03 million compared to USD 287.03 million a year ago. Net income was USD 89.52 million compared to USD 91.47 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.87 compared to USD 1.92 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.87 compared to USD 1.92 a year ago.
Universal Display Corporation is engaged in the research, development and commercialization of organic light emitting diode (OLED) technologies and materials for use in display and solid-state lighting applications. OLED is an emitting light device which can be manufactured on both flexible and rigid substrates, helping make it suitable for use in full-color displays and as lighting products. OLED displays can be used in the mobile phone, television, monitor, wearable, tablet, notebook and personal computer, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and automotive markets. Its PHOLED technologies allow OLEDs to emit light through a process called phosphorescence. It has an intellectual property portfolio surrounding its existing PHOLED technologies and materials for both displays and lighting products, which the Company markets under the UniversalPHOLED brand.
