Background/Description of the Disclosure

Please be informed that the Board of Directors of Union Bank of the Philippines at its meeting held on October 29, 2021, approved to hire Rear Admiral ROMMEL JASON L. GALANG (Ret.) as Chief Security Officer under the Bank's Security Management Group with the rank of First Vice President, effective November 1, 2021. He will replace Rear Admiral Rafael G. Mariano (Ret.), First Vice President, as Chief Security Officer who will retire effective November 1, 2021. Rear Admiral Galang has over 38 years of experience in the military, distinguished for his leadership and exceptional service. He has expertise in the field of strategic and tactical planning, operations and logistics, project management, research, and personnel management. He was the former Commander of the Naval Sea Systems Command of the Philippine Navy. Other major positions he held are Commander, Naval Forces West; Deputy Commander, Philippine Fleet; and Commander, Littoral Combat Force, among others. Mr. Galang is a member of the 1987 Class of the Philippine Military Academy. He completed his Master in Management in Public Administration in Philippine Christian University Manila in 2004.
