BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich., Jan. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --TriMas Corporation (Nasdaq: TRS) -- a diversified global manufacturer of engineered and applied products -- today announced that Kurt Allen has been promoted to President of Lamons Gasket Company, a leading producer and distributor of metallic and non-metallic industrial gaskets and complementary fasteners for petroleum refining and petrochemical industries. Allen will report directly to David Wathen, TriMas President and CEO.

Allen has more than 25 years of engineering, sales, marketing and business leadership experience in the global gasket market. During his 11-year tenure at Lamons, Allen held various positions of increasing responsibility including International Sales Manager, Vice President - International Sales and most recently, Vice President - Sales & Marketing. Prior to joining Lamons, Allen spent 13 years at Flexitallic Ltd., a global gasket supplier, and six years at BBA Group.

"We are extremely pleased with Kurt's accomplishments," commented Wathen. "We believe the Lamons team, under his leadership, will be able to expand their business, while leveraging enhancing productivity. While Lamons is the largest gasket supplier to the petroleum industry in the United States, it is our belief that Lamons has significant growth potential on a global basis. Kurt's international business experience and leadership will facilitate additional market growth opportunities to support our global customers."

In his previous role, Allen oversaw 15 Lamons global facilities, including opening a facility in Zhangjiagang, China. During 2009, Allen was also instrumental in the opening of the Salt Lake City, Utah, and Rotterdam, The Netherlands, facilities. With the new hub in Rotterdam, Lamons is focused on expanding its European presence. The company recently launched Kammpro capabilities in the United Kingdom with the licensing of Specialised Engineering Products Ltd

(SEP) to produce serrated gaskets. This complements SEP's current gasket capabilities and allows them to better service a large U.K. refinery, where they have a five-year agreement in conjunction with Lamons to supply gaskets and bolts.
