TotalEnergies announced Wednesday that it has signed an agreement with Impact Oil and Gas Namibia to increase its interests in two offshore blocks in Namibia.

Following completion of these transactions, TotalEnergies would hold a 45.25% interest in Block 2913b, which contains the so-called "Venus" oilfield, and a 42.5% interest in Block 2912, the group said in a press release.

Impact will retain a 9.5% interest in each of the licenses.

The Group intends to share this additional interest with its strategic partner and consortium member QatarEnergy.

"Impact will be reimbursed for costs previously disbursed in respect of its interests, with a payment of $99 million (€90.46 million, editor's note) at closing," adds the group. (Written by Augustin Turpin, edited by Kate Entringer)
