Press Release (Nov 01,2013)Report on our Plan of Installing Additional Accumulated Water Storage Tanks at Units 1-4 of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station to the Nuclear Regulation Authority (As of October 2013)

On July 25, 2012, we received a directive document*1 "Further measures to include in the implementation plan on reliability improvement measures at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station (Direction)" from the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (NISA) of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

(Previously announced on July 25, 2012)

On August 27, 2012, we submitted a report "Plan of installing additional storage tanks based on the estimated amount of concentrated salt water and water treated by the multi-nuclide removal equipment, etc. to be generated in the next three years" to NISA in response to the direction given. Then on September 7, 2012, our plan of installing additional storage tanks with the opinions received at the hearing (held by NISA) incorporated was submitted to NISA.

We submit our plan on installing additional accumulated water storage tanks once every half year, and submitted out plan to the Nuclear Regulation Authority in March, 2013.

We would like to announce that we submitted our plan on installing additional accumulated water storage tanks as of October 2013*2 to the Nuclear Regulation Authority yesterday.

The reporting due was extended to October because 1) the cause concerning water leak from tanks confirmed on August 19, 2013 was still under investigation in September 2013, and 2) replacement of flange-type tanks was under consideration.
