Tesco will close two of its distribution centres and bring all operations carried out by third party logistics operators DHL and Wincanton in-house. The company has said it proposes the closure of warehouses in Welham Green and Chesterfield, reducing its distribution centres from 25 to 23. It added that all warehouse operations carried out by DHL and Wincanton would move in-house including its hanging garments clothing operation at DHL's Daventry facility. Up to 1,000 jobs would be lost in the two closed distribution centres.
