TatNIPIneft Research and Design Institute, which is a structural division of TATNEFT, has turned 65 years old.

The order for the establishment of the Tatar Petroleum Research Institute (TatNII) was signed on April 24, 1956, with the aim of creating a research and design and survey base in Tatarstan to solve the current problems of exploration, development and operation of crude oil fields. Scientists of the Institute together with oil field workers developed major technical and production solutions that allowed the oil industry of the Republic to reach the forefront of scientific and technological progress.

Today, TatNIPIneft is one of the largest scientific centers of the Russian oil industry. There were more than 2,800 engineering developments made during the existence of the Institute, which were protected by patents of the Russian Federation for inventions and utility models, as well as patents of several foreign countries. 89 collected works, 233 monographs, and about 10,000 scientific articles were published based on the results of scientific research and studies.

The Institute has a significant scientific capacity. Currently, there are 15 doctors and 69 candidates of science working at the Institute.

The technologies developed at the Institute are widely used not only in Tatarstan, but also in the Arkhangelsk, Irkutsk, Orenburg, Samara, Ulyanovsk regions, in Western Siberia, in the Republics of Bashkortostan, Komi, Kalmykia, Sakha (Yakutia), and in a number of CIS, as well as far abroad countries. The high expert level of scientists and professionals has been repeatedly recognized by domestic and foreign awards for achievements and contributions to the development of the oil industry.

Currently, the Institute is engaged in supporting the development of such unique and large deposits as Romashkinskoye, Novo-Elkhovskoye and Bavlinskoye crude oil fields, which are the key assets of PJSC TATNEFT. A project was launched in the area of CO2 injection in 2020, with the aim of increasing crude oil recovery, as well as reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Nail Maganov, General Director of PJSC TATNEFT:

'The history of TatNIPIneft is inextricably linked with the history of TATNEFT and the Republic of Tatarstan. For many years, the Institute has been effectively solving the most complex issues of the oil industry, helping to strengthen the leadership position and competitiveness of our Company.

I thank the entire staff of the Institute for their creative work, loyalty to the profession and the oil business, and I wish you further continued success and labor achievements for the benefit of the Company, the Republic, and the country!'
