The launch of a chemical water treatment unit was also performed at the TANECO complex of TATNEFT within the framework of a two-day working visit to Tatarstan of Svetlana Radionova, Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Management of the Russian Federation.

During her visit to TATNEFT facilities, Svetana Radionova was accompanied by Nail Maganov, General Director of PJSC TATNEFT, and Fayaz Shakirov, Head of the Volga-Kama Interregional Directorate of Rosprirodnadzor.

TATNEFT is engaged in a conscious, environmentally responsible business based on sustainable development goals and the principles of a closed-loop economy. This work is carried out in TATNEFT Group on the basis of innovations along the entire chain of business processes in crude oil production, oil refining, petrochemicals production and power engineering, with the possibility of expanding the product line with a low carbon footprint. Inter alia, the main areas of the Company's activity include: reduction of the carbon footprint; production of new competitive products; use of renewable and carbon neutral resources; reuse and recycling of secondary raw materials.

The information on the environmental activities of TATNEFT and the measures taken to reduce the carbon footprint of the Company as a whole was presented to the Head of Rosprirodnadzor.

The new chemical water treatment unit will provide a stable supply of purified water for the second technological chain of the TANECO oil refinery complex.

Svetlana Radionova, Head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources:

'TANECO is the most modern enterprise in the industry in Russia. It is not every day that one has to visit complexes of this level, where all the waste is recycled and secondary resources are used.

You have an absolutely clear understanding of the situation and are at the head of the 'Pure Heritage' trend. It is already impossible to avoid involving secondary resources in the circular economy. The circular economy and a close-loop cycle of an enterprise with a minimal impact on the environment is the only possible future.'

Nail Maganov, General Director of PJSC TATNEFT:

'I thank the teams for another achievement. The time has shown the correctness of the vector that was determined at the very beginning of the construction of our oil refining complex. Opening of the modern high-tech facilities at TANECO has already become a good tradition. The appearance of such modern facilities makes our country safer and cleaner '

In addition to TANECO, Svetlana Radionova visited a number of other TATNEFT's facilities, including the 'Almet' Public Center and a school biolaboratories for microclonal propagation of tree seedlings opened by the Company at Gymnasium No. 1 and Malgabush village of the Aznakayevo region. There are already 7 such biolaboratories today operating in the Republic.
