SAO PAULO--Suzano SA's shares rose 4.2% Friday after the pulp and paper company scheduled a price increase for July.

The share price rose to 47.54 reais, the equivalent of $9.04, and are down 24% from the start of this year through Thursday's close. Brazil's benchmark Ibovespa stocks index was up 0.8% in late morning trading.

Local news organizations reported the price increase earlier Friday, and the company confirmed the price of its pulp will rise in Europe, North America and Asia in July.
