BOSTON - State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT), one of the
world's leading providers of financial services to
institutional investors, announced today that it has added
private fund (Form PF) reporting capabilities for private
fund advisers to its suite of reporting tools. The
enhancements will help clients comply with the new
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rules impacting
hedge, private equity, liquidity and other private
funds.
Private fund advisers, which include hedge funds and
private equity firms, will be required to adopt Form PF
reporting in 2012 in order to comply with Section 404 of
the Dodd-Frank Act. Section 404 requires registered
investment advisers who manage one or more private funds to
maintain records and file reports as mandated by the SEC
for investor protection or for the assessment of systemic
risk to the US Financial System by the Financial Stability
Oversight Council (FSOC).
"Our goal is to provide our clients with new products and
functionality to automate reporting and comply with
changing regulatory requirements," said George Sullivan,
executive vice president and head of State Street's
alternative investment solutions group. "Clients can
leverage our infrastructure and capabilities to help
alleviate the administrative challenges they face and focus
instead on growing their core business."
The comprehensive Form PF product offering will include
service options ranging from fund-level information for
funds administered at State Street to full form preparation
including external third party data aggregation. Clients
can also opt to have State Street submit the form directly
to the SEC on their behalf. The Form PF reporting
capabilities are part of State Street's suite of regulatory
reporting services.
With more than $793 billion in alternative assets under
administration as of September 30, 2011, State Street
provides a complete suite of fund accounting, fund
administration, corporate administration, and risk,
analytics and credit services to institutional investors,
hedge fund managers, private equity fund managers and real
estate fund managers. Its dedicated global alternative
investment solutions group comprises more than 3,000
employees worldwide.
