SSAB is now issuing an invitation to participate when the world's first fossil-free steel is ready for delivery to the customer, a milestone on the road to a completely fossil-free value chain for iron and steelmaking. The other owner companies of HYBRIT,
This makes SSAB the first in the world to produce fossil-free steel, steel made with iron produced using HYBRIT technology, i.e., reduced by 100% hydrogen instead of coal and coke. This trial delivery is an important step towards a completely fossil-free value chain. The goal is to deliver fossil-free steel to the market and demonstrate the technology on an industrial scale as early as 2026.

The program will begin with a seminar on fossil-free steelmaking, green industrial development and the market for fossil-free products. Participants will also be invited to visit the rolling mill and be present when the very first fossil-free steel is made ready for delivery.
