Resolve to save money and go green this
New Year with natural gas
Southwest Gas is committed to
Smarter Greener Better® Energy Programs

Phoenix, Ariz. - It's never too late to make your New Year resolutions and Southwest Gas encourages Arizona customers to be Smarter Greener Better by utilizing its energy efficiency programs and rebates for residential and commercial consumers.

These programs are designed to help residential and commercial customers make smarter energy choices through increased energy efficiency and savings on their natural gas bills. Among the ways Southwest Gas does this is by offering residential rebates for installing qualified energy-efficient natural gas clothes dryers, solar water heating systems with natural gas back-up and tankless water heaters. Rebates are also available for weatherization improvements to one's home, which are simple and easy to make.

Commercial customers can take advantage of rebates for a wide range of commercial equipment including dishwashers, boilers, solar water heating systems and foodservice equipment.

"There are ways that all of us can do our part to reduce our carbon footprint. The energy choices we make can make a tremendous difference, and small, simple changes can go a long way towards increasing energy efficiency. The exciting thing about natural gas is that it is a quality product - affordable, clean and better for our environment. It also helps the consumer save money," said Jose Esparza, Vice-President of Energy Solutions for Southwest Gas.

All of the programs promoted by Southwest Gas focus on savings for customers, as well as encouraging green living and sustainability.

"Many people don't realize just how environmentally friendly natural gas is, and while it may seem counterintuitive that we would try and lower people's gas bills, it's the right thing to do for our customers and for Arizona's sustainable energy future," Esparza commented.

Natural gas is a natural partner in the green movement. It is an American foundation fuel that is cleaner than most forms of energy when it comes to production, delivery and use. Natural gas is domestically abundant; in fact, the United States is the world's largest producer of natural gas with more than 100 years of reserves. There is actually more natural gas in America than Saudi Arabia has oil. This abundance keeps gas prices relatively low and stable, strengthening our overall energy security and allowing us to rely less on foreign energy sources.
