To celebrate National College Savings month, Sallie Mae is offering Upromise by Sallie Mae members a chance to earn even more cash back for college throughout September. Upromise members will have the opportunity to earn up to 10 percent cash back on purchases at more than 100 retailers. Upromise World MasterCard cardmembers will earn an additional 5 percent on top of the increased cash back.

September will also feature partners with weekly offerings of 10 percent cash back. Ten percent cash back partners include Sears, Dell Small Business, Macys.com, The Body Shop, and Living Social. For those who shop at weekly featured partners with a Upromise World MasterCard, savings will jump to 20 percent. “We know that nearly all families see college as an important investment, but fewer than half are actually putting money aside to save for it,” said Dave O’Connell, senior vice president, Upromise by Sallie Mae. “National College Savings month is an important reminder that it’s never too early to start saving, and, with Upromise, that means the opportunity to put more money back in your pocket throughout the month.”

In addition to increased cash back for college, Upromise will introduce a new goal-based savings account this month. Free and easy to join, Upromise by Sallie Mae allows families to earn cash-back for college from everyday purchases. Through Upromise, shoppers earn real cash rewards that can be put toward saving and paying for college, including repayment of an eligible Sallie Mae student loan, eligible college savings plans, or even cash back in the form of a check.

To date, Upromise members have collectively earned more than $900 million. To learn more, visit Upromise.com.
