SGS opened its first lab in Hong Kong in 1959 and we have more than 1000 employees at present.

SGS Hong Kong is Environmentally Responsible

The SGS facility houses an Exhaust Gas Treatment Tower (scrubber system) on the roof of the Competence Center. This is an exhaust gas treatment unit to remove fine particles and harmful gases. Toxic and corrosive gases (such as hydrochloric acid (HCl)) will be removed before discharging to the external environment.

Types of consumer product tested by our laboratories in Hong Kong include:

  • Toys and children's products
  • Housewares and sundries
  • Electrical and electronics
  • Food and catering
  • Cosmetics, personal care and household

SGS Hong Kong Features

The SGS Hong Kong Laboratory Center incorporates a Restricted Substances Testing Center which provides clients with a wide range of chemical testing solutions to meet stringent requirement and standards. Moreover, the Hong Kong office has a Retail Solutions Platform, a delegated team of key account managers with multi-cultural background servicing top global retailers in China, Hong Kong, US & EU. There is also a technical competency center with the capability to support the development needs of new services for our clients.

The SGS Hong Kong lab meets the requirement of ISO/IEC 17025, granted with the accreditation of HOKLAS, DAkkS, CNAS, INMETRO, CPSC approved Third Party Conformity Assessment Body, Japan MHLW Oversea Registered Lab, JTA recognized foreign testing body, SNI approved designated lab, CB Testing Lab, Interwoollabs and ISTA.
