Seria Co., Ltd. reported earnings results for the first quarter ended June 2020. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of JPY 48,642 million compared to JPY 43,781 million a year ago. Operating profit was JPY 5,078 million compared to JPY 3,962 million a year ago. Profit was JPY 3,486 million compared to JPY 2,672 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share was JPY 45.96 compared to JPY 35.24 a year ago.
Seria Co Ltd. is a Japan-based discount retailer of general merchandise that sells products at a single price of 100 yen. The Company is involved in the retail of consumer products through stores, as well as the wholesale of products to franchisees, big clients and overseas agents. The Company offers daily miscellaneous goods such as make-up goods, kitchen supplies, eating utensils, washing and bathing goods, sanitary products, cleaning substances, cosmetics, accessories, sewing goods, stationery, toys, character goods, gardening goods, health products, hygiene products, clothes, cleaning products, storage goods, tools, umbrellas, electrical appliances, pet goods, interior goods, outdoor products and seasonal products, among others. It also provides sweet stuff including instant foods, seasonings, canned food, noodles, rice, confectionery, drinks, bakery products, sweets and others.
