Salesforce announced that Sabastian Niles will become its new president and chief legal officer, overseeing the company's global Legal and Government Affairs organizations. He will report to chair and CEO Marc Benioff and serve on the company's executive leadership team. Niles most recently worked for New York-based law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, where he has been a partner working with U.S. and overseas companies, focused on shareholder and stakeholder engagement, corporate governance, M&A, enterprise risk oversight and technology trends, investments and more.

He earned a law degree from Harvard Law School. He joins San Francisco's largest tech employer during a period that has featured a number C-suite changes. Most recently, President and Chief Operating Officer Brian Millham has been ramping up his responsibilities at the company, taking on marketing, employee success and business technology, according to an internal memo CEO Marc Benioff sent to his workforce.

This has fueled speculation that Milham may be in line for a co-CEO position in the future.
