The next day of the professional skill competitions of SDCs of Rosseti on electricity metering in Astrakhan became the most intense for the participating teams. Within a few hours, the teams had to undergo three tests at once: the steps 'Instrumental testing of a measuring complex with a three-phase electricity meter', 'Checking knowledge of operating instructions and standards' and 'Relieving the victim with electric shock and providing first aid'.

At stage number 1, the participants showed their level of knowledge of existing rules, regulations and standards. Both teams adequately fulfilled the tasks assigned to them. The team of IDGC of Centre and Volga collected 100 points, the team of IDGC of Centre - 88 points.

Stage number 2 - 'Relieving the victim with electric shock and providing first aid' is one of the most dynamic and spectacular. Conditionally it is divided into two sub-stages. During the first one the team has to release the victim from the impact of electric current and transfer him to a safe distance. In the role of 'injured' is a mannequin with a figure and mass, like an adult, in overalls, shoes, with a helmet on his head. The second sub-step - providing the victim with first aid - consists of demonstrating knowledge and skills of carrying out activities to provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

'This test differs from most of the rest with its pace and the fact that the result largely depends not only on the level of professionalism, but also on the ability to cope with excitement,' commented the head of the team of IDGC of Centre and Volga region, deputy director for sale and development of services of the branch 'Nizhnovenergo' Maxim Shumakov. 'Our team coped well with all the tasks, confidently overcoming both sub-stages.' The result of the team he leads is 75 points. Actions of the branch of IDGC of Centre 'Belgorodenergo' are estimated at 78 points.

The task of step 3 - to check a three-phase meter. As a rule, such meters are installed at legal entities, therefore, in the event of a malfunction of the electricity meter the power company can incur significant economic damage. The skills to identify and eliminate violations in three-phase metering systems are needed for employees of electricity metering services in order to identify in a timely manner sources of energy losses.

'During the stage, the crews should demonstrate their skills in identifying and eliminating drawbacks in the scheme of connection of a measuring complex, assessing its suitability. In addition, the crew should correctly formalize the results of the inspection by an act and, in the event that the measuring complex is recognized as suitable, to seal the measuring instruments,' explained Alexander Kosolapov, the head of the team of IDGC of Centre, deputy director for sale and development of services of the branch 'Belgorodenergo'. 'At the same time, the knowledge by the crew of safe production of work, methods for preventing unauthorized access to the meter and measuring current transformers, completeness and quality of registration of all necessary documentation is assessed.'

Total for today the team of the branch 'Belgorodenergo' of IDGC of Centre has collected 435 points. The team of the branch 'Nizhnovenergo' of IDGC of Centre and Volga Region has 372 points.

Today, the participating teams are overcoming the last test of the interregional competitions - the practical stage to identify sources of electricity losses in 0.4 kV lines.
