Rolls-Royce presents the new generation of mtu 1600 engines, 12-cylinder diesel engines with a power output of up to 1000 kW.

This new series is suitable for power generation in critical applications such as data centers, airports and hospitals, but also power plants located in regions without a connection to the public grid, or isolated construction sites or mines.

This is a benchmark product in its category. It enables us to offer our customers maximum performance and efficiency for their energy supply', emphasizes Tobias Ostermaier, President of the Stationary Power Solutions division at Rolls-Royce Power Systems.

Rolls-Royce claims to have increased the engine's performance by up to 49% compared with the previous model.

In addition, all 1600 mtu series engines can run on synthetic diesel fuels, including renewable diesel fuel or HVO (hydrotreated vegetable oil), which can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 90% compared with fossil diesel.

Since the start of the year, Rolls-Royce says it has already received orders for 22 1600 mtu series engines.
