REPUBLIC BANK HIRES DOUG BURGESS AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT

Former Fifth Third Senior Vice President joins Republic's Cincinnati banking team

CINCINNATI - Republic Bank announced today that Doug Burgess, a Cincinnati banking veteran who spent most of his career at Fifth Third Bank, has joined Republic Bank as Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking/Commercial Real Estate at its new Norwood, Ohio banking center.

Burgess has spent 35 years in the Cincinnati market as a senior level commercial real-estate and credit-risk officer for Fifth Third Bancorp as well as serving in a two-year stint as vice president of development services for Bunnell Hill Development and president of Bunnell Hill Consulting, Inc. in Lebanon, Ohio.

Burgess began his career in banking at Fifth Third as a Commercial Real Estate Loan Originator in Cincinnati. Soon after he was promoted to Vice President, Manager of Commercial Real Estate for the Cincinnati Region and he also served in the roles of Real Estate Capital Markets Manager and Community Development Manager.

He did such a good job in the Cincinnati market that Fifth Third promoted him to the Bancorp Senior Vice President of Commercial Real Estate Credit Manager, a position he held for 12 years before joining Republic Bank.

Burgess, a graduate of Centre College in Danville, Ky., received his MBA from Emory University in Atlanta. He is an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America and currently serves or has served on the boards of several private and public organizations, including the Cincinnati Development Fund, the Hamilton County Development Corporation, the Neighborhood Development Corporation, Impact Autism Foundation, Inc., and Blue Mark Capital, LLC. He and his wife, Debra, reside in Terrace Park with the youngest of their five children.
