ACCELERATING COVID-19 VACCINATION IN SORONG - WEST PAPUA

Jakarta, 04 January 2022. PT Kalbe Farma Tbk (Kalbe) donated products from the Kalbe Group to support the acceleration of the community vaccination program in Sorong - West Papua which will later be carried out in the courtyard of the Almanar Malanu Mosque, Malanu Village, North Sorong District. The donation of 2,400 packages containing vitamins, nutrients, milk, herbal products, and hand sanitizers was carried out at the Sorong Branch Office of PT Enseval Putera Megatrading Tbk by Yudistiro Wahyu Wibowo, Area Business Manager; and received by Danrem 181 PVT SRG Brigadier General Indra Heri. This vaccination program activity is a form of collaboration between Kalbe and Kompas Gramedia to achieve herd immunity.

"Kalbe as a company that is engaged in the health industry will continue to be committed to making the nation healthy, and we need to accelerate this COVID-19 vaccination to achieve communal immunity or herd immunity," said Vidjongtius, Director of PT Kalbe Farma Tbk. "We have arrived in 2022, but we are still at war with the same virus, COVID-19; of course, there must be a strong collaboration between the government and the private sector, between private sectors, us with the community - to stop its incrementally massive spread," he added.

PT Kalbe Farma Tbk's Corporate Sustainability Manager Abi Nisaka said that Kalbe will always be ready to collaborate with anyone, both external and stakeholders to support the government's program to achieve communal immunity, realizing Kalbe's own commitment to making the nation healthy. Not only donations to support the COVID-19 vaccination program, but Kalbe and Kompas Group have collaborated to hold vaccination center activities which began on August 17, 2021 with the theme "Rise for Independence from COVID-19".

The COVID-19 vaccination program, which was held at the Al Manar Arteri Mosque, North Sorong District, Sorong city, West Papua, started at 08:00 WIT with the target of as many participants as possible. During its implementation, the Al Manar Arteri Mosque also cooperated with the ranks of the Regional Military Command, Koramil, and Babinsa in their respective regions.
