PAX Global Technology Limited ('PAX', HKEX stock code: 00327.HK), a world-leading provider of electronic payment terminal solutions, is pleased to announce that FamilyMart, a famous Japanese chain convenience store brand, has launched a brand-new cashless payment solution through PAX payment terminal Q28 since April this year. The new solution supports contactless payment, as well as domestic and overseas mobile payment schemes, which will be available in more than 16,000 convenience stores nationwide.

The new solution covers all major credit card brands and 12 common QR payment schemes in Japan, such as d Payment (d払い), Rakuten Pay (楽天pay), LINE Pay, PayPay, Smart Code (the unified QR payment scheme provided by JCB).

In order to satisfy the payment needs of overseas tourists, the new solution also covers Alipay+, a unified overseas e-wallet platform, enabling alternative payments by AlipayHK, Kakao Pay and Touch'n Go eWallet, etc. Through PAX Q28, designed for the Japanese market, tourists from Hong Kong and Southeast Asian countries will be able to use their domestic e-wallets at the FamilyMart stores in Japan.

In Japan, diversified payment methods are available in the market, but each payment terminal generally supports limited payment methods. In common, convenience stores are equipped with a wide variety of payment terminals, resulting in payment inconvenience and increased operating costs for merchants. PAX Q28, designed for the Japanese market, is the best fit for local usage habits and supports dozens of domestic and overseas payment methods in one single terminal. The integrated solution not only delivers payment convenience for customers, but also provides merchants with an all-in-one solution customized for their business needs.

Ms. Heidi Hoo, Vice President of PAX for Asia Pacific region, commented, 'PAX is delighted to partner with Japanese local leading payment service providers and retailers, to facilitate the upgrade of their payment and management platforms. We are honored to be part of the Japanese cashless process with our cutting-edge payment technologies.'
