Oracle Corp. reported higher fiscal-second quarter revenue, driven by its infrastructure and applications cloud businesses.
The business software giant said net income was $1.7 billion, or 63 cents per share, compared with a loss of $1.2 billion, or 46 cents per share, a year ago. Adjusted per-share earnings came to $1.21, above analysts' expectations of $1.17.
Revenue increased to $12.3 billion from $10.4 billion a year ago. Analysts expected $11.96 billion.
Cloud infrastructure revenue was $1 billion, up 59% in constant currency, while cloud application revenue was up 45% in constant currency to $2.8 billion.
Oracle said electronic-medical-records company Cerner, which the company acquired last year, contributed $1.5 billion to total revenues.
