(“TMAC”) of an initial public offering of its common shares, Newmont, through its indirect subsidiary Hope Bay Mining Ltd., beneficially owns 22,299,999 TMAC common shares, representing approximately 30.7 percent of the Common Shares issued and outstanding. The securityholdings include 3,666,667 TMAC common shares acquired under the initial public offering.

Newmont beneficially owns the TMAC common shares referenced in this news release for investment purposes. The Company will continue to evaluate its investment in TMAC and may increase or decrease its security holdings for investment purposes.
