Fleet EV Initiative LCC (hereinafter, ' FEVI') which was established as a joint venture company between Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. (hereinafter, 'Chubu Electric') and Marubeni Corporation (hereinafter, 'Marubeni'), hereby announces the launch of a Proof of Concept (hereinafter, 'PoC') to optimize the operation of an EV bus in Iida City. This PoC is based on a separate PoC for energy management utilizing EV bus charging implemented by Shinnan Koutsu Corporation (hereinafter 'Shinnan Koutsu') and Chubu Electric.
The purpose of this PoC is to operate an EV bus on the commercial routes of Shinnan Koutsu and to obtain knowledge about the operation of EV buses in the domestic fixed-route bus business.
Specifically, by validating the optimal charging method in accordance with the bus operation schedule, reducing CO2 emissions as result of using EVs, creating new value for EV buses (BCP measures, etc.), expanding renewable energy usage, reducing electricity by controlling peak consumption and the reducing costs by improving the utilization of vehicles through the use of the fast-charging station.
FEVI will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by reducing CO2 emissions through the electrification of vehicles owned by logistics and transportation companies, and by proposing BCP measures that utilize the power storage function of electric vehicles and proposing further utilization methods for renewable energy.
