M Vest Water AS announced that it has entered into an exclusive Cooperation Agreement with Downstream Marine (DSM) for the treatment of wastewater from salmon slaughterhouses in Norway, with a duration of 5 years and subsequent annual extensions. In addition to supplying NORWAFLOC® to the end client, MVW holds the first right, under the agreement, to supply substantial equipment components, including flotation units, chemical dosing stations, and other dewatering equipment to DSM. During the timeframe of the LOI between MVW and DSM, which was signed in November 2021, MVW has successfully developed and documented a robust purification method.

This method makes it possible to purify the bloodwater from salmon slaughterhouses using its patented NORWAFLOC® products. The solution has been full scale verified in collaboration with Nordlaks at their modern large salmon slaughterhouse in the North of Norway. It can be considered "best in class", both in terms of simplicity, efficiency, and economic competitiveness.

Environmentally friendly NORWAFLOC® chemicals are used. This achievement enables the industry to meet new and stringent discharge criteria imposed by the Norwegian government, effective from December 4, 2023, as a part of Norway?s adaption to EU regulations.
