<_a103a_updated style="display: none"> { 10/11/2021 12:03:37 PM }LUKOIL continues its work to reduce controlled greenhouse gas emissions at its production facilities. The Company began supplying electricity to its Stavrolen petrochemical plant (Budennovsk, Stavropol region, Russia) from LUKOIL's own solar power plant (SPP) located at its Volgograd refinery. About 11 million kWh are expected to be supplied annually.
The use of renewable power generation will enable Stavrolen to reduce carbon footprint of its products with expected reduction of indirect emissions by almost 5 thousand tonnes of СО2 per year.
The development of renewable power generation for own needs is an important tool of the Company's decarbonisation program. LUKOIL plans to continue to implement such projects in accordance with its climate strategy.
The 10 MW SPP in Volgograd was commissioned in 2018. In May 2021, the second stage of the SPP was commissioned which increased its total capacity to 30 MW. The project was implemented under a renewable energy sources capacity supply agreement with mainly Russia-made equipment used.

Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia Pavel Snikkars, Governor of the Volgograd region Andrei Bocharov, First Executive Vice President of LUKOIL Vadim Vorobyov, and Chief Executive Officer of Hevel Group Igor Shakhray took part in today's opening ceremony of LUKOIL's 20 MW solar power plant (SPP) in the Volgograd region.
LUKOIL has stepped up in the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) international climate change rating by one notch and entered the C List, which resulted from developing the Company's carbon management system.
LUKOIL entered the construction phase of the second stage of the solar power plant (SPP) project that is currently underway on the premises of LUKOIL's Volgograd Refinery.
The commissioning of the second stage of the SPP will result in incremental generation of more than 24 million kWh of green electricity per year. This is equivalent to an annual reduction of CO2 emissions by 12 thousand tonnes.Attachments
