ROME, July 3 (Reuters) - The tie-up between ITA Airways and Lufthansa will boost air traffic to and from Italy, the country's Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said on Wednesday.

Giorgetti said the Italian state will further cut its stake in ITA but will seek to maintain oversight to make sure national interests are respected.

Speaking at the same press conference in Rome, Lufthansa CEO Carsten Spohr said ITA Airways will have a new CEO, and as for the possible revival of the Alitalia brand, he said it would be discussed at a later stage, after restoring profitability.
