Lignol Energy Corporation announced that its Darwin biodiesel plant in Australia has secured two key certifications that will open up new sales opportunities to the biofuel markets in the US and Europe. The Darwin biodiesel plant has been given the green light by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to sell biodiesel in the US so now it can become Renewable Identification Number (RINs) foreign producer generator. The station also qualifies as a grandfathered plant which means it can generate a RIN from the sales of palm oil-based biodiesel.

At the same time, the Australian biodiesel plant has earned an International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC), which it will be able to use approved ISCC feedstocks to make ISCC-approved biodiesel to be sold at a premium in Europe.
